my mom rocks!

Today is her birthday...
Happy Birthday MOM!!!!!!!!

{the birthday card that I made for her}
...
And I am very lucky to have her here with me/us
for her birthday & Thanksgiving
{thanks Dad for driving down here!}
...
I used to live about a mile away from Mom;
five years ago the one mile became 600 miles,
which put the kabosh on our fun jaunts
to Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics.
However, nothing stopped us yesterday from
hitting my local Michael's
and my Mom's HUGE scrappy find.....
I was shopping in another part of the store
when Mom came rushing up saying,
"Could you use these? You may want to
come and take a look at what I found."
OH. MY. GOODNESS.

A basket of Making Memories Vintage Findings
80% OFF!!!!
wooooohooooooo!!!!!!
The BEST scrappy find I've had in a long, long time...
and that is one of the many reasons why
MY MOM ROCKS!!!!
...
Happy Birthday MOM :)

What's your 'signature' dish?

We are hosting Thanksgiving here at the Barthel household.
My in-laws will be traveling up from Marco Island, Florida,
and my parents will be traveling down from McHenry, Illinois.
yAy!!
Now, we just need my husband to return from Ft. Benning
{he left today}
in time for turkey dinner!!

I'd love to hear your Turkey Day plans...
