Now for my question...
Have you had any success selling cards at a craft fair or other venue?
I have NOT, and am beyond frustrated :(.
I am looking for advice/tips/your experience with what has been successful for you.
Also looking for any great links/tuts for paper crafted ornaments, mini albums, altered items.,
as I am thinking about branching out from only making cards.
Have you wholesaled your cards? How does that work?
Also, if you are willing to share this information, what do you price your cards at?
Looking for all the feedback you are willing to provide!!
If you are more comfortable emailing, please do: raescards (at) comcast (dot) net
Thank you my friends!!!!

WOW, Rae you did an amazing job with this sketch! I took one look at the sketch and my head started spinning...wouldn't know where to start! As for selling cards, sorry I haven't tried selling any so I wouldn't be much help. Best of luck though...your cards are amazing so I can't imagine them not selling.
Hi Rae! I like the bling you used on this card. The black scalloped flower gives it a nice punch.
I love splitcoaststampers.com for tutorials. They have a ton of good ideas to make for Christmas gifts.
I've tried to sell cards here in our village but people don't even want to spend $1. I keep making them for friend's birthdays and going away parties. Every once in awhile someone will ask me to make one but this community isn't into cards.
Your card is beautiful! I have tried selling cards at local craft shows but people have not wanted to spend the money on them. Depending on the number of layers my cards have been anywhere from $3.50 to $5.50 - same price as a normal hallmark. I am trying to make a little money on the time involved. But I have not sold many. People want the $1 cards. :) But I still LOVE to make them for my family/friends. I have started making gift tags, tins, etc... for craft shows. My first one is Dec. 3. I will let you know.... :)
This is a beautiful card! Love the patterns you paired for this card. I will have to come back to see if someone gives help with selling cards in craft venues. I sell online mostly. Good luck!
Oh, Rae! This is a GORGEOUS card! I LOOOOOVE the papers--FABULOUS!
I have lots of advice for selling cards:) I have had good success when selling them. It has taken me 2 years to finally get in my groove--but I'm willing to share my ideas/etc.!! Shoot me an email, and I will give you the deets:) DON'T GIVE UP!!!!

Gorgeous card Rae! Those colors are positively swoon worthy!
Craft shows/fairs have not really been my friend when it comes to selling cards. I've had luck with other things, but not cards for some reason.
I've had much better luck selling them in small trendy type stores or coffee shops.
First of all Rae, gorgeous card!!!
I rarely sell my cards. I put a lot of work into them, and really don't get enough to make it worthwhile. Ni do a few custom orders for friends and colleagues who like my work. I sell a basic 6x6 for $5, and a very detailed embellished one for $10. I hear that etsy is the best bet. There is so much competition, that I think your success would come from marketing, Google ads? Get your name out there?
Sarah
Rae, I do sell at craft shows. I price my cards to sell, and market the price to make math easy- $2.00 each or 3/$5. I never sell less than 3 per customer. I talk to each person that even LOOKS my way. It draws them in, even just a hello. Tell them everything about your cards- handmade, unique, compare Hallm**k's price to your own, how special it is to receive a handmade card, etc... It took a few trys but now am much more comfortable and the personal talk and attention really does help sell. I find that selling at churches can be challenging due to age. Older people don't have the money to send cards, thus wont' buy. Schools are the best as well as community centers. I also sell in my home, have an open house, serve tea and cookies, discounts on past holidays...draws people in as well. Hope this info helps, you can email me privately if you wish (kbecker.ctmh(at)gmail(dot)com. Kelly
