Woo-hooooooo!!!
A holiday just for us card makers!!!
Are you ready to play?
I have several things to share on my blog today.
How about a challenge and some blog candy? :)
Yes, I would like to share a few of my favorite things with one of you! And since this is "WORLD" card making day, my international friends are welcome to participate :)
Candy includes: Fiskars apron lace border punch, two Making Memories glitter bling frames, Fieldhouse flowers, red "Merry" and green "Jolly" rhinestone words (I like to cut these apart to use the rhinestones individually), two clear stamps and stamping block, white grosgrain ribbon from the Dollar Tree ( I like to tea stain this or ink it up, and for only $1.00 a spool, I don't mind if I ruin it!), 5 yards of white seam binding, 3 yards of hemp cord, 20+ vintage buttons, 8 vintage corsage pins, assorted flowers, a handful of bling, and 4 packages of Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker burlap buttons (that I forgot to put in the photo!).
So.... on to the details:
My WCMD card challenge is three-fold.
Feel free to choose one, or two, or all three parts of the challenge.
As long as you participate in the challenge, you are eligible to win the blog candy.
Okay, here is the challenge:
1) Create a Christmas card
2) Use this sketch to do so
3) Use a non-traditional color palette
{meaning no holly red or kelly green}
Here is my card as an example:
I drew the sketch first, then made my card :) I used some Pink Paislee Mistletoe & Co. collection, Offray ribbon, Martha Stewart border punch, charcoal chalk ink, light blue bling, and a stamp from my new "Very Vintage Christmas" Waltzingmouse clear stamp set.
Okay, so if you are game, make a card based on one or any/all of the above three, and link it up below, at the bottom of this post, using "Linky Tools" (Inlinkz is not an option right now, and I have NO idea how this other link generator works, please let me know if it's not working!)
I will leave the challenge open for one week, so on Sunday, October 10th, I will announce the random winner! Sound good?
One last thing before you go....
Several people have asked me recently about my bow-tying, so I whipped up this tutorial. I hope it helps, but if you still have questions, please ask and I will try my best to answer. :)
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial, and I hope it helps you tie cute little bows :)
If you are looking for more inspiration on this special holiday ;),
make sure you check out some other blogs on the "World Blog Tour".
You can see them HERE. (Click on "Mr. Linky" and you will see the list of blogs)

Hi there, Rae! How fun it was to watch your bow video and to hear your voice! Thanks so much for sharing your tips and for the adorable sketch. I love that PP line you used....still have a bit of that left in my stash, too. Your card is just fabulous. Thanks for the WCMD inspiration!
It makes sense! Great tutorial Rae! I love seeing the different ways us crafters do things and I was thrilled to learn that I am not the only person who fusses with my bows to get them just right.
Gorgeous Christmas card...hopefully I can find a little time to play along with your challenge!
Happy WCMD!

Thank you so much for the tutorial! You said you weren't sure what made your bows special and I can tell you what it is! They do not look like the town drunk tied them which is what mine look like every single time! LOL! I'm going to practice with your instructions and hopefully mine will start looking like bows! :)
Thank you very much for the tutorial Rae, it was great to see how you tie your pretty bows :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to make the bow video! I have been avoiding bows! But you made it look doable! It made perfect sense! :)
Gorgeous cards, Rae! Thank you for the inspiration. Happy WCMD! I'm gonna try to whip up a card using your sketch!! :)
love, love your card, such a great tutorial, you are amazing my friend!
Well, I flipped the sketch...and kinda muddled a little more with it (cos that's my nature) and I did use traditional colors in my flower but the rest of it certainly isn't traditional. What can I say? I don't follow rules. :-P Anyhoo, it was fun to try -- so no need to enter me since I can't follow rules. Haha!
